Are you looking for breakthrough today? Are there things you are struggling through? Perhaps theres a moment you know is coming and it filled you with dread knowing you always struggle through it. You find yourself trapped by it everyday or every week. No matter the frequency, it’s just a matter of time until it’s here again. Perhaps you’ve cried out for God to free you, and if this time He showed up and opened His powerful mouth speaking freedom into it you wouldn’t feel like a failure. Wouldn’t it be incredible if God Himself would speak literal Words into your darkness and freed you from it? I mean, what if when you hit your struggle you weren’t there alone and wrestling to get free?! It’s possible. You have God’s spoken Word written for you in a book, not like a normal book.  This isn’t a simple history book. Hebrews 4:12, ESV: tells us that “the word of God is living and active” not just a collection of quotes from when God DID speak. These are Words that are active and “sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Your Bible is not filled with Words from a God who once said things. These are Words that have power, it is as though every time they are spoken God’s lungs freshly exhale those Words again. This is why you MUST memorize Scripture. In your next battle it won’t be YOUR words that break the enemy’s hold, it will be God’s Words blasted from His tabernacle. God dwells within you, and you have the power to let Him speak. If you will take Scripture and meditate on it so that it is running through your mind constantly, when the enemy attacks you will find great freedom. For where God speaks the enemy cannot stand! Where God speaks darkness hides! So, take God’s Word, God’s voice, and let Him roar into your problems. Don’t sit hoping YOU will free yourself, Let God be God.

Respond:

Spend 1 minute thanking God for giving you His very Words to speak into your darkness! Then spend 2-3 minutes praying, asking God to help you truly value His Words.

Relate:

Find someone you can memorize Scripture with. It will help you memorize AND it will give you someone who you can share war stories with. Use God’s Word to change things and share with each other how powerful His voice is!
